Modernizing An Industry Nobody Trusts
Ongoing brand and marketing strategy for Vacatia, a resort residence marketplace serving 50+ destinations across the US, Canada, the Caribbean, and Mexico.
The Challenge
The timeshare industry carries a reputation problem decades in the making — opaque pricing, high-pressure sales, and buyers who feel trapped rather than served. Vacatia set out to be the exception: an endorsed resale partner for major resort brands (Disney Vacation Club, Royal Resorts, Westgate, among others) bringing transparent, escrow-protected transactions to a market that had never offered them. Communicating that difference — to buyers who assume every timeshare company is the same — was the real challenge.
Our Approach
It started as a bounded engagement: a three-day Brand Jam session to work through Vacatia’s positioning. That session confirmed the core issue wasn’t product or service quality — it was trust, inherited from an entire industry’s reputation. Ad Zombies helped Vacatia build a brand story that separates the company from that legacy instead of getting lumped in with it.
The relationship didn’t end when the Brand Jam did. It turned into an ongoing Fractional CMO engagement — Ken embedded in Vacatia’s strategy sessions, reviewing creative, and setting marketing direction on a continuing basis rather than handing off a one-time recommendation.
The Results
A brand presence that reads as genuinely different from the rest of the timeshare resale market — transparent, modern, and credible — instead of one more company buyers have to take on faith. The engagement continues today.
